IT’S NEVER BEEN HARD TO MAKE MUSIC, AND NEVER BEEN HARDER TO MAKE MONEY FROM IT.
I, through VICE, spoke with a series of Australian musicians & 1000+ fans all about the disconnect between music & its value. Music has never felt more valuable to us, and yet we’ve never paid less for it. The industry is on its last legs, and may not have much time left.
From a history on economics & listening trends to our predictions for the future, we’re laying the foundations for Australian music’s long awaited comeback tour.

A photo is only as good as the camera that takes it. With the launch of the Google Pixel 6’s breakthrough technology for photographing darker skin tones, Google will become the champion of a whole new wave of representation for Australian women.
THE IDEA
For the past year, technology has been the portal connecting us to the outside world.. We’re seeing other faces less, yet our own far more. We’re focusing on ourselves in ZOOM calls, seeing our friends & family through their phone cameras, and viewing the outside world from within our screens.
It’s never been more important for our technology to capture how we really look.
In 2021, R29, Getty Images & Google Pixel 6 are partnering together to reset the way we view our skin. We’re creating multiple stock image libraries that visually represent Australian women & underrepresented people of different backgrounds, ages, sizes, abilities & skin tones.
The stock photos used in advertising campaigns, on websites, on booking platforms, health websites, and in every part of our lives need to truly reflect what these modern women look like. In 2021, Google Pixel 6 is going to be the champion of that inclusivity, by launching these galleries over the next two months with three spotlighted photographers and their communities; Plus Size, LGBTQIA+, & Skin.

Divesting in unethical companies that harm the environment is the quickest way to enact collective cultural change.
# OPPORTUNITY: BANK AUSTRALIA LEADS THE ETHICAL FUTURE
Working with Pedestrian Group, Bank Australia will lead the charge on an ethical future for all Australians by showcasing how one persons’ decision can enact enormous collective change, educating all of Australia of the consequences of our global temperature rising only two degrees.
THE IDEA
Introducing A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE, A VICE Australia & Bank Australia investigation into the real cost of our future.
Working with Bank Australia, VICE is diving deep into four key areas of Australia’s landscape, and tracking just how our world will look across these areas if we don’t change our spending & emitting habits. Across three videos, we’re chatting with scientists, futurists, inventors, and economists about what we should & could be doing to avoid a future that is almost entirely recognisable, and far hotter under the collar. We’re running this investigation into investments in our EARTH (mining & oil vs. clean farming technologies), AIR (air pollution vs. wind farms) & WATER (coral bleaching vs. ocean cleaners & hydroelectric power).
This will see a VICE Australia host interviewing this expert talent and getting their thoughts on this future, and joining the dots on how financial institutions can break the power with our help, and avoid that crucial two degrees. These interviews will demonstrate not only all the terrifying decisions being made right under our noses by major financial institutions, but showcase Bank Australia’s commitment to securing Australia’s future, culminating in a huge longform piece designed to give a holistic overview of Australia’s investment environment.
